I've gone the furthest and most invested in any pokemon game in Black 2 but ultimately I felt the most heartbroken when I lost my HeartGold game and most attached to the pokemon there so

i think mine was.... sapphire and pearl? which the former is kinda funny bc hoenn is my least favorite

I GOT A MAREEP, I remember I had one named BLITZ and it evolved into an OP-ass ampharos.

I had a trio team of a female Typhlosion, male Ampharos, and male Quagsire and it was the best team I ever had
