Seriously, no matter who it comes from, the school, Scouts, the theatre group, they always have them from 8-10 at night.
Kiddo goes to bed at 9, so he never gets to go because he'd get no swim time before he has to go home and get cleaned up and into bed.
Not to mention I don't like going to the pools because I have a chlorine allergy
I know he'd love to go, but why can't they have them from, like, 7-9 or 6-8? Why so damned late?
I usually never tell him I get the invitations at all because I know he can't go and I don't want to deal with the whining.
wtf that is a bizarre time to have a pool party
I'm going to guess that it may, in part, be due to the policies of the pools themselves, but IDK. I haven't been to a public pool in years.
It might be because the pools used to close at 8, at least when I was a kid.
So any private stuff has to be done after hours.
But, yeah, 8-10 seems late for grade schoolers even in summer
I know there are probably some people out there who'd be all, "aw, give him a break, Mom, it's just for one night." To which I then say, "Only if you deal with my child the next day."
I always wonder how many families actually show up and stay for the whole time. And how nightmarish their households are the next day.
I guess it'd depend on when it was. If it was a friday night going into saturday, probably not a huge deal.
If it is more middle of the week kind of stuff, I am less certain.
I think the Scout one was scheduled for a Tuesday.
I cna get older kids who are out of school for the summer being able to stay up later, but any children under 12 is a bit redic.
Yeah, these are for 5th graders and younger, and I'm just but why tho
I know some parents get lax over school holidays, especially if they're on vacation with their kids
IDk if you're on vacation or not.
The school system int he states is so horribly messed up about who is ins chool when.
Adrian starts school in... 3 weeks, I think?
