That isn't a question.
Finnne. What was Amroth's past like?
Also same question, Isabela.
Oh boy. Which part of their pasts?
(see, I am the worst question asker >)
How about... the time in and around Amroth met the Girl That Was Just Not That Into Him
aaaaand... Isabelaaaa..aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
aaaaaaaaaaa..............

OK. Well. Amroth was roughly 1000 years old when he came to the Lorinand Valley. So still a relatively young man.
His life up until then had been peaceful for the most part. He was brought there from Ost-in-Edhil (a lively trading hub) through Khazad-dûm. Dwarves were considered friendly people in his eyes.
a trait he inherited somehow from his uncle, probably
The Valley looked very different in those days. No cities, no mellyrn. The local Silvan just had bare branches for anything done in trees.
Galadriel was the primary contact for Dwarves. Celeborn and Amdír both NOPED out of going through the Dwarf halls.
Oropher was the guy technically in charge, his seat being at Amon Lanc (later Dol Guldur) just across the river, and he didn't trust these new Elves showing up.
So Amroth got a fairly mixed welcome from the Silvan. One of them was Nimrodel, whose reaction was equal parts "oh no he's hot" and "DO NOT TRUST."
But Amroth, prince though he was, was not above hard work. He helped plant Galadriel's mallorn seeds, and got to know the Silvan, their culture and their language.
He was pretty starry-eyed to meet Nimrodel, but she would only speak Silvan (even though it was already unfashionable by then, with Sindarin being the lingua franca). So he had to find a teacher.
He really wanted to impress her, though, so he practiced really hard and eventually was able to say "hi" in her own language. Everyone else thought he was a nerd, probably.
Years pass, the mellyrn grow strong and Amroth, inspired by Nimrodel, starts planning the tree cities that will come to define the area. He is a huge architectural and engineering nerd.
But, trouble is brewing in the east. Annatar is no longer just the vaguely creepy dude who hung out with Celebrimbor a lot--he's been revealed as Sauron.
Amon Lanc has been deserted for years, with Oropher withdrawing to the north, and the new neighbors moving in are not very nice.
300 years after arriving in Lórinand, it escalates to all-out war, and Amroth is part of the sortie of Lórien fighters alongside Celeborn and Amdír. This will be his only taste of battle.
He fights beside Durin of Khazad-dûm, he meets Elrond briefly, he wishes Galadriel had never accepted the White Ring, and he is furious when he hears of Celebrimbor's death.
They have some victories, but the lines are eventually broken. Khazad-dûm's doors are shut. Celeborn follows Elrond's rout to the north, but Amdír and Amroth return to Lórien.
Amroth is very busy shoring up defenses and helping handle the influx of refugees Galadriel and Celebrían brought into the valley from Ost-in-Edhil.
He grieves those lost, especially Celebrimbor and the city of Ost-in-Edhil itself, which he helped build. And as if that's not enough, Nimrodel is angry with him.
She blames him for bringing strife to what used to be a peaceful valley. He is taken aback and sad and decided he doesn't like war. He promises her to never lift a sword in battle again.
Meanwhile, Celeborn is still missing, having gone to the newly-established Imladris with Elrond, and after 4 years, Galadriel decides she'd better go hunt him down.
She leaves Amroth nominally in charge, with Amdír as his regent (because Amroth is still a fairly young Elf without much experience) and takes Celebrían with her to Imladris.
...it soon becomes clear that they have no intention of coming back. Amroth feels abandoned.
And, tbh, kinda spiteful. He gives them the silent treatment for years and refuses to visit Imladris.
Amroth, no, that's the bad Finwean side
he is the most mature, really
He eventually concedes to start visiting, but not until they have moved from Imladris to Belfalas. Which is the frickin' seaside boonies with no one around.
Upon his first visit, he is horrified and immediately starts building proper housing for his family and the people he brought along with him. The city that results is called Dol Amroth.
He doesn't stay--he loves Lórien and the people there, so Caras Galadhon is home for him.
They come visit him sometimes, but they never stay very long, no matter how much he asks them to.
He spends the rest of the Age otherwise settling into running Lothlórien and trying to impress Nimrodel.
this just reminds me of how much we need to do Az-Nerdy things :x
Amroth, no, she needs to like you for you
He did his best! But he legit spends 4,000 years trying to date her.
these millennia-old teenagers
And he does (presumably) visit Imladris once for Celebrían's wedding.
But let's see.... Tiny Isabela...
Of course, she wasn't "Isabela" then. Her name was Naishe.
She was raised by a single mom (her dad was apparently a one-night-stand). Who was a con artist. And basically turned Isabela into a female Artful Dodger.
So, basically from toddlerhood, she was taught to lie, cheat and steal. If people left their belongings insufficiently secured, that's their fault.
But one day, her mom got tired of the con life and instead went into the Qun life. Naishe didn't want to convert, however, and this caused a lot of tension in the home.
It came to a head when she was almost 19. That was when Luis spotted her in the market with her mom and decided he had to have her.
Normally, a bride-price is paid (and Isabela usually tells the story that she was sold for handful of coin and some livestock), but no. Her mom said "Just take her." And Naishe was led off in tears.
So, yep, she got married to a much older stranger. No one talked to her during the wedding, but handmaids did their best to get her sloshed. So it would be "easier" for her.
