I get that... "Great contract opportunity! 6 months! Chicago!" ... I live in NY. I just don't like the idea of relocating for contract work.

I don't know how people can do that, but clearly there must be a market for it if they advertise like that.

it's not easy when you are, uh, living on your own, and rent is already ridiculous

Hotels are expensive, too... and contractors have to find their own benefits most of the time. I feel like that would be really hard on the wallet.
