Overall, I liked it.

It explores some interesting ideas about online/offline persona differences, has a main romance that doesn't make me groan, and has some cool fight scenes.

It shows how the VR technology can be used to heal people as well as how it can be abused.

But it has some glaring issues.

The fanservice shots are beyond excessive, and it has some truly uncomfortable villains who really didn't need to be as gross as they are.

I can't blame anyone for being turned off by those parts and disliking the series because of them.

It has good ideas, but they're hampered by the sexual assault and fanservice shots of underage girls.

I'll recommend watching it for its ideas and character studies, but only if you're okay with sitting through some extremely gross and uncomfortable scenes.
