Well, everybody in Douglas County can get the assessment information for free.

Getting the deed is trickier if I wasn't given a copy when I bought the house. And then a recorded copy later.

Because Douglas County's recorder site stinks. But you can request a copy of your deed from them for waaaaaaaay less than $83.
