I think they're cute but a little creepy. I would say, though, unless you feel strongly about it, let him have this. It's one day a year, and no harm. If everybody else is doing it, might make the party easier.

I want to go as bacon and eggs with my husband. I don't think we'll have any parties to go to this year, so it's probably just a dream.

You could go as Beauty and the Beast, if you're willing to forgo the Disney version. You could lead him around with a leash.

I'm not completely against couples costumes but I'd rather have them be coordinating costumes, like Batman and Catwoman or Wonder Woman and Superman.

I'm definitely refusing to do Harley Quinn and Joker though! Too popular and since I know their comic relationship is horribly abusive it's too much like my past for comfort.

Maybe you should go as penguins. Even they can't always tell who's the boy and who's the girl. They mate when the boy offers the girl a nice rock. One of you could carry a nice rock.
