Notes a good time to get rid of some stuff. Look at each thing while packing and ask yourself if you really want it.

I used to do that every time I moved. Now that I've bought a home, I look at stuff and ask myself if I really need it. I try to do that once a year.

Swamp_Daddy: We try to do that twice a year and always think carefully about what we really need to keep when we move. Five years at one place means we'll likely have a lot to go to charity.
