unless you're in a frat in the northeast us

don't buy a pair of bright colored chinos

don't wear a boutonniere when there's no ocassion

no funky linings ever please

Learning a new tie knot is okay in theory but people are going to go into silly stuff like this

You only ever need two knots in life

Four in hand, half windsor

depending on the thickness of your tie
