this true for you? I'm not embarassed to say that I love my Second Life friends. They make my life better. An extra dimension I can depend on. Each one different and special.

boyo: That is just so true. My best friend is a French woman from Montreal, who I've never met RL, but know intimately and deeply.
my best friend is a girl nearly half my age who lives in Long Island.
I've kept her company at night when she was alone in the hospital more than once.

We can really touch each other over the internet. So many don't yet understand this. It surprised me when I finally realized this. We are all real people all the time.
many years ago, back when I lived in NY, it was late at night and I was sitting in my kitchen.
maybe about 11pm or so
and I thought I heard something. so I listened... and there was this faint whispering
"naaaaiiiillllssss"
(my online name at the time)
I got up and walked into the hallway.
we lived upstairs in a two family house, which was old and creaky and possibly haunted. it had been built in 1904 and had accumulated many stories over the years.
"naaaaiiiillllssss"
sure enough, two of my online friends had let themselves in and were creeping up the stairs

then we hung out.
