followed the rest of his class to the unoccupied end and sat down on the edge of the pool, dangling his legs in the water--
--while everyone else started with the warm-up exercises.
heard several girls giggling from the other side and looked up, glancing curiously in their direction.
...eventually spotted a very familiar figure at the very end of the pool, where the water was the most shallow, swimming--
--no, paddling. ...And trying his best to stay afloat.

slipped into the pool and swam over, careful not to let the boy see him.
took a deep breath and dived under when he got close enough, swimming a little closer before reaching out to grab Tsuna's ankle.
shrieked when he felt something closing around his ankle, and he immediately started floundering as he lost his concentration.
flailed against the hold around his ankle and tried to right himself, but it was nearly impossible with the hand hanging on to him.
released the boy's ankle after a while, but stayed submerged under the water.
splashed for the pool's edge the moment he felt the hand release his foot, and clung on to it for dear life.
then proceeded to hack his lungs clear of the water he'd swallowed.
followed and grabbed onto Tsuna's other ankle, tugging on it. 83

let go of Tsuna's ankle and broke the water surface, draping himself over the boy, catching his breath.

got a close-up view of the water, and a reflection of his own terrified expression before his head dipped into and under the surface.

, Ooh, managed to float for a handful of seconds there before drowning--
blinked. Then dived into the pool to haul Tsuna out when the boy didn't resurface after a couple of seconds.
swam back to the side with Tsuna and lifted the boy up and over the edge before getting out of the water himself.
knelt beside the smaller boy and lightly slapped him on the cheek, looking for some kind of reaction. "...Tsunayoshi-kun? ._."

only dazed, not unconscious. He was fully aware of what Mukuro was doing, and--that wasn't a proper CPR! D:
sputtered and turned his head to the side and coughed and spat out as much water as he could bring up.

looked at Mukuro in wide-eyed disbelief and just concentrated on getting his breath back.
only just realized then that they'd attracted quite the crowd. And the PE teachers of both classes were hovering over them.
flushed and shook his head when they suggested that he go to the infirmary to get himself checked.

threaded the fingers of his other hand through Mukuro's hair, and wondered why it looked vaguely different.
stared at it for a while, and then finally figured out why - the spikes were gone, flattened by the water.
snickered - quietly, of course.
blinked, looking up at Tsuna. "...What?"
