the ones who think that 'build a wall and make them pay for it' is a viable strategy for literally anything, much less something as nuanced and deeply humanistic as immigration

these people have been told that they're not only right, but that they're in the majority, and they are going to act accordingly.

And in one very efficient little swoop, the US has told its queer children, its children of color, its disabled children, its women, that their needs and struggles are jokes

A rich white man can sexually assault literally double-digits' worth of women

he can be under investigation for CHILD RAPE

and he will still be elected

Expect an uptick in hate crimes in the US similar to what's happened in Britain after brexit.

I should say that I feel for my American friends right now

but honestly I'm more furious than sympathetic

Your public has taken someone who should have been an obvious trashfire and wheeled that trashfire right into your living room

And I can't even pretend that Canada is culturally different enough that we'd never in a million years fall into the same trap

or that this isn't going to have splashback where I live

I don't even know, man

no, I do feel for you guys, who have to live where you live with the knowledge you now have about the people who live around you

but I'm not going to stop being furious
