Hi, I'm just checking in, everything is ok. The quakes started out pretty minor, no biggies, but the biggest one (7.5) hit quite far from me. As far as I can tell, all the kiwis so far are unharmed.
In my region, it was felt as a 4.0, not too bad, minor shakes. We do have tsunami warnings and higher waves have been spotted around the eastern coastlines everywhere.
oh good, now please check on all the animals and make sure they are ok too

Power is a bit shaky in some places of the (admittedly, tiny) country and there are (I think) two confirmed deaths, with others injured.

Oddly, the quake woke me up ,even though I"m in California, because my phone was extra loud when it gave me the alert. I hope New Zealand is okay.

Our Wellington and Christchurch offices are closed today for safety, yikes.
School exams are on hold in some areas. There's been some looting of evacuated homes in Christchurch, which is just despicable.
