However in project notes for those that have made them, no one has said there was an error. What do you think it is?

Kimberknits: she said after inc for the thumb gusset you should have 4 sts.
I also messed it up because I'm not sure what to do with the 2 k sts before the thumb gusset.

contact the designer and ask her to explain the gusset part or use another pattern for that part. I made fast and easy mitts which had clear instructions for gussets

do you need to rearrange the stitches in the needles, maybe?

I think you have to put a marker, incr 1 stitch, knit 2, incr 1, put a marker. continue with mitt. Knit a round. next rnd. slip marker, incr 1, knit to marker and incr before it, slip marker, finish round.

keep repeating these 2 rows until you have the right number of stitches between markers. put stitches on waste yarn. finish mitt. pick up thumb stitches (add whatever number she says) and finish thumb part.
