Having people sound like they like my work and want me around shouldn't feel this weird, should it?

But it's happened several times recently and every time I just go

"??? What do I do with this 'compliment' thing?"

I'm used to feeling like people are just being polite and tolerating me

Plurking about this feels like I'm bragging

but I guess I should operate on the assumption that since I'm not trying to rub it in people's faces it's okay?

It just feels weird to have people be grateful for what I did instead of expecting me to do stuff for them

Or even just tell me that they actually like what I've done
