She's also extremely upfront about all that emotional whammy power whereas Boyce is usually very reserved; I usually like playing him off of characters who have some volatility--it's fun to play contrasts!

Most of what I'm coming up with right now is stuff that would take longer than what I can thread in ten days :c Boyce keeps himself pretty emotionally constipated because he wants to show his kind aren't

all wild assholes, but also because he needs to be seen as capable for his own peeps... but one of the things I'd like to play in a setting like this is him figuring out that it's okay to feel things???

I don't know, Clover's volatility reminded me of that... but I feel like playing something like that out within seconds of making first CR would feel pushed and become trite-feeling :Ia

What about if their first meeting has some event for Clover to be really (some emotion, spunky? angry?) and Boyce can push back against that, and we can see what goes from there?

Like... he's been there with some of the intensely angry periods and he hasn't really had to deal with the fall-out in a particularly helpful way, at times, but he might have good advice

and could probably soak up the volcano of anger without throwing shit back.

I don't think I've really played that out with him before so it'd be fun on my end at least!

YES DEFINITELY clover's slow to warm up to people but once she does they're basically stuck with her forever and she is lacking in good influences that aren't her brother in general

tbh she's hardly ever really looking for advice so much as people who put up with her and her temper tantrums

she has exactly enough self awareness to know she's a mess but not enough to do anything about it

WONDERFUL clover gets that she is largely unpleasant to deal with so when people want to deal with her despite her loud issues she gets pretty hype, I'M EXCITED FOR IT

coming through) then perhaps him being down and out about that could be a controversial topic

and/or if he was injured she might be a person he could go to?

She was basically created to care and nurture these extremely emotionally fucked up monster hunters, so she'd definitely comfort him on the whole... dealing with corrupted gems thing

Also if he's injured she'd care for him, although she doesn't have any explicit healing powers
