ANGER
Chara's the kind of person who tries to be collected and in control at all times, but they're also pretty hotblooded, and as Z pointed out once, quick to judge - which for them often means quick to anger too.
The result is kind of a sort of pressure cooker. = ) and then, eventually, some kind of explosion.
It's an 'oh-shit-we-set-the-underground-coal-seam-on-fire-and-now-we-have-to-evacuate-the-town' type of anger
They'll get smiley, they'll get formal, and when they go nonverbal it's a particularly imminent sign something's going to give.
Things that make them angry: Removing their control/consent is a biggie. Frisk did it, CP's Asriel did it, Poncho Human did it. They also hate hypocrisy. (Which isn't mutually exclusive with the fact they themself can be a hypocrit.) Not being taken seriously (esp as a threat) can also leave them fuming, but not angry, per se.
This is why Sans's unflappability annoys them so much, and they picked up the tactic from him and applied it to another Chara in CP, because if it pisses them off...
needless predictability, that's what
the most notable thing is they sleep during the day purely to spite the nightmare king
they'll make food runs, bathe in the fountain, or switch sleeping places at random at night, unless something wakes them during the day
sometimes Frisk will take over depening on Chara's willingness to be present, and do things of their own
but this doesn't really follow a set pattern either.
REPAIR
hhhh this is a toughy, because usually, Chara does the opposite. their stimming tends to be methodical dismantling of things, which ties into their sense of self in not the best way. when it comes to repairing relationships - they're a very burned bridge kind of person. They don't give second chances and they don't extend olive branches.
(Frisk is kind of the exception, precisely because they're stuck together. Their relations are kind of, underneath the surface, a rocky cold war truce thing, but it used to be a lot worse.)
but they;re a 'waste not, want not' hoarder, and they'll often clumsily attempt to fix their things, esp if they're useful/rare, or items that they're emotionally attached to (something they will swear up and down doesn't happen, but does). their skill varies - usually it's 'glue, sellotape, and hope'
they like the concept of kintsugi, even if they don't know personally how to do it
Chara's response to getting sick is pretty much 'ride it out'.
Find somewhere to curl up until it ends.
They've gotten sick before, once with a bad fever, but never anything approaching fatal.
They're used to slugging through and doing things despite feeling awful, but it's still a sign of how bad things were when melting and magic overdose drove them out.
Medicine doesn't usually occur to them, in the middle of it. They're aware of it as a concept (even have some knowledge of medicinal plants tucked away) but their first thoughts now are generally towards monster food.
Ironically, they'd be better at treating other people's more than their own. (As much as an untrained 12yo can)
hhh this is another toughie bc... their Frisk is more likely to be envious than Chara is (although said Frisk shoves it firmly into the Feeling Box every time there's a spark of it, and there's never much). Chara's kind of at battle stations, in the Underground and in the Castle, and envy is pointless - working with what they have and getting what they
don't is the order of the day. If they think about things other people have that they don't it's more in the context of 'how much is this a threat to me'.
There's no space for it, at the moment. That might change.
LOVE, or love as the case may be
Lowercase love is kind of a foreign country to Chara, and their main exposure to it is media. They kind of feel like an outside observer of it - incapable of giving or recieving it, with an acceptance of this being how things are and always will be. Love has nothing to do with them, like the dwarf planet pluto.
(Which is not to say they don't ache for it - they have no contextualisation of that ache)
LOVE is much safer, clearer territory. Even though part of the nuclear disarmament deal is they don't get more of it, this doesn't mean they still don't crave it.
Sometimes they look at someone and imagine the chime, and immediately feel even more disgusted at themself.
They're staying on the wagon, mostly.
i'd say youth 2 but were about 2 get a lot of that i feel
heheheh the event is gonna be fantastic
both why not give frisk some love
give them a hug, tell them they r a worthwhile friend
Frisk was confused, but accepted the hug anyway
i roll to seduce them, but in a friendship way
you get a 13, their DC to be friends is, like. 5. they like making friends
DREAM
Good dreams are like gold nuggets for these kids. There's a reason the nightmare king considered them a smorgasbord.
There's pre-fall stuff. There's Chara's Absolutely No Good Terrible Day(s) in the Underground. Frisk has recurring nightmares of their and Asriel's death in particular. All of this mixes and bleeds together when the two are asleep, and they have to be asleep at the same time for Chara's body to consider it actual sleep.
It's not just memories, there's fears mixed in too - isolation, rejection, violation, entrapment and the very merging that occurs in this state.
Needless to say, Chara's eyebags could employ several gravediggers.
As for aspirations... Chara just wants out. Out of the Underground, they've particularly fixated on. They... don't really have any plans for after that. It's just the dogged, instinctive goal.
Frisk is slightly more ambitious - their goal went from 'get Chara out alive' to 'get Chara out alive by breaking the Barrier'.
What? Plans for themself? What do you mean
Chara likes nighttime more than Frisk does.
There's a certain thrill to being Out When You Shouldn't Be and sneaking around when everyone else is asleep on Chara's part.
And nights being usually not the most pleasant times for Frisk.
Frisk does like stars, though, because Asriel liked stars.
Although those memories are bittersweet now.
