I am thinking a hamster would be best. I like guinea pigs and chinchillas but they are more needy than a hamster.

And I am simply not responsible enough for a needy pet.

OH.I went to the shop and there were baby guinea pigs. So cute and just the right age to grow with you and love you. Might have to get one
