i had an interview & the guy goes "i'm seeing so many resumes with '7 months work here, 8 months work there,' is this a new trend" oh ho i had some words for him
traditional steady employment is eroding! (also when i said it's still a very difficult job market he gave me a surprised "really? still?" omg i have been looking for the past year, yes, STILL)
like. i have had a number of interviews where they look at my resume and go "wow, that's impressive, you could work anywhere!" uh. no. no i can't. no one will hire me. so, you know, thanks for the compliment but that does nothing for me.
I've gotten that compliment before, and had a place who said that almost pass me over because they thought I was likely to go work somewhere better. no, fuck you, job plz
I have straight up been asked why i was applying to a place when i went to UC for law school and i just said "because it's a difficult job market and i am not in a position to think like that" before realizing the correct answer would be why i specifically liked that place
