For both kids, their parents kind of acted as a unit, so their relationship to them tended to be similar

There were subtle differences, though

Chara's parents used to be a little good cop bad cop (although it was more like terrible cop bad cop) for example

Frisk's would argue and use Frisk as a weapon against each other so uh

they developed a lot of defusing skills they shouldn't have had to

Chara's relation to their parents was 'terrified and resigned subservience' until it reached a boiling point

and curdled into hate and anger and disgust (but also still fear)

Frisk's relation was 'desperately running on a treadmill towards an dangling affection that never comes'

and then later was 'i would prefer not to think about that now'

as for Frisk's actual parents instead of their biological parents

Frisk was close to both Toriel and Asgore, and it's subtle, but they did pick up traits from them, just as Chara did in canon

They really liked just quietly doing things with them in the room, either with them or just sitting nearby with something else

Toriel encouraged their curiosity, and Asgore has a kind of soft warmth they tried to emulate

They loved them very much

Something they witnessed that fundamentally changed them? whoa

I'd say... Asriel's death, for Frisk. It's a HUGE influence on how they behaved in Chara's body, which is perhaps not a surprise

watching Chara murder everything also was a dooy

it's hard bc there's all these little moments rather than one big fundamental thing but

Monster Kid standing up to and for them is definitely up there

Probably some G that's pocket money, half a crayon with the end looking like it's been chewed by fangs a little, a paperclip bc there's always a paperclip somehow, something interesting he thought Chara might like, lint, and his trusty camera won't fit in his pocket but he carries it around a lot

It also varies depending on if he's playing a game with Chara and what kind of game

I don't think Asriel was the sort to stick to just one object. So he'd always have a favourite toy, but that would shift a lot

the locket doesn't count as a toy but if you want a consistent favourite object...

it depends also if he's being 'Prince Asriel' or just 'Asriel' because as the prince he's more aloof/smug and as himself, more brattish

depends how strong the dislike is tbh. There wasn't anyone he did to a great extent before he died

(Chara's parents, even though he didn't know much about them beyond extrapolation, were an exception)
