I don't have my thyroid out but it doesn't function well on its own so I've been on meds like 30 years now. No problems at all.

Mine is slow, I have meds. All going pretty well. My sister has a fast thyroid, my grandmother had a slow one. So I think there is some hereditary aspect ro it. I don't know anyone that had it taken out. Medication should be similar to that for a slow working thyroid, right?

Mine is out since 2013, and it's ok even though meds dosage has still to be adjusted from time to time and I feel like I need more sleep
