theres a white boy in my Nazi history class who tried to argue with me & the prof over "nation-states are a social construct", and interrupted a lecture bc he didn't know what "homoeroticism" meant
i feel sorry for the professor
all of my professors, actually
this school used to be predominantly older students but it's become a lot more corporate over the past decade & enrollment has skyrocketed & now it's way more kids fresh out of high school
and all of the professors who have been here for decades are just like "why are my students.... like this....."
the professor definitely had a look on his face like "i can't believe that i have to explain the term homoeroticism in a 400-level course"
well tbf it's better that he asked than just… going on not knowing
well he started by turning to the guy next to him and trying to ask him while the prof was in the middle of a lecture
and the other guy was obviously trying to give a short answer like "i'll explain it properly later"
and this kid was just... not taking a hint and continuing to talk through the lecture, until the prof was like "can i help you??"
also his phrasing was like.... "surely he doesn't mean that the nazis were GAY...."
and was so skeptical that he decided that the word must mean something else entirely
