he even gets a lil shy around strangers at first

but then quickly gets to being innocently rude with asking lots of questions

the short story where he met soan is cute too.... helpful xiri....

egotistical and rude, but still curious and kind and helpful

THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ONE TIME, XIRI...... WHY YOU STRANGLING SNOWE AGAIN......

i generally like to think that if snowe and xiri had been allowed to be in contact while xiri was in snowes head, after the initial mild strangling to test how much xiri can do in snowes head, hed otherwise be more considerate and careful with snowe... to an extent. xiri doesnt exactly scream 'child safe'

("we should totally throw rocks at that wasp nest and see what happens" -xiri, probably.)

("AAAA I HAVE SEVERAL REGRETS AAAA" -xiri and snowe immediately following that suggestion, probably)

xiri also promised to never strangle snowe again after doing it the first time

but at the same time, i can think of several scenarios that would cause xiri to break that promise

for example, xiri is at odds with himself a lot in his half insanity, and his magic/core sometimes manifests itself as an almost different entity within him

someone who helped with ephemeral prince made a whole meta about xiri and the slightly seperate entity that is his ore/magic

esp in that its a much more simplistic creature, it reflects a lot of xiri, but also has its own interests and its own things it knows

and thanks to xiri fucking up first impressions, it associates 'expressing emotions towards snowe, even positive ones' with strangling him

(theres even a couple times in canon that xiri's magic, completely independent from xiri and what xiri wants- at one point even going against xiri screaming at it to stop-, has strangled snowe or otherwise damaged snowes neck.)(who do you think slit snowes throat...)

so i could see scenarios where xiri isnt 100% himself, and going after snowes neck again

or even just. xiri himself just not being a very consistent or rational person and if something got him riled up enough... sry snowes neck

for example, in this au, maybe snowe hesitated when planning to finally kill astra, and after so long of waiting and having all this anticipation built up, xiri doesnt take the hesitation well
