Xenosaga is the kind of series where things and people can be really affected even with the smallest of changes, so I think it kind of encourages the fans to be AU nuts.

I'm not sure why it's so strange that you like playing those roleswaps though, since I'm sure it's interesting, at the very least, to have a Margulis that's questioning what Ormus and U-TIC are up to right off the bat and a Jin that's even more pigheaded, if that can be believed.
