putin, really? who the fuck is gonna be "not a dictator" next? pol pot?
Can I just take a nap and wake up when the world settles down ;-; this is depressing
i'll fluff your pillows and fetch a blanket.
Apprently cold hard facts are just an opinion now?
is this person American? We're existing in a really weird reality I'm not entirely sure we're not actually in the Framework RN
Nope. An aussie. a guy I once went on a date with.
I try to be careful who I reshare stuff from because some of it is clickbait, but the thing is -- clickbait is not necessarily fake news.
often left-wing clickbait is real news presented in a breathless or scornful tone -- lots of emotional wording like "shameful" or "evil" or "maniac" and no pretense of objectivity.
BUT that doesn't mean their facts are necessarily wrong
it means that you should look for a more credible news source to confirm it.
as a lifelong freak and fan of hunter s thompson, i happen to think objective journalism is overrated anyway.
eh, but what he did is more reportage, long-form, essay stuff and less "this is the news"
i'd like to see news presented factually before i move over to opinionated essays and reportage, but ymmv!
either way, is putin a dictator? ehhhhhh probably more or less. he's certainly an authoritarian. Russia certainly doesn't have a free press. I think that predictive article David Frum wrote about what the US could be like in 2020 or so was instructive.
I see people on FB yammering about "communism" when the fatal issue in the past wasn't socialist policies, it was authoritarian or totalitarian governments
The man goes from prime minster to president, to prime minster to president. He's does'nt yeild power. Dude is totally a dictator.
all you really have to do is say that just because a particular article might be clickbait in its presentation doesn't mean it's wrong.
because other dude is definitely laboring under that logical fallacy. it can be written in a really partisan way and still be correct.
