SIGMA was my Character Type Renaissance even though I'm slipping back into my old ways so I guess he's just the odd guy out with carlos

but picking him up was the product of playing VLR and desperately wanting to pick someone up from it but not really clicking with anyone, especially sigma.....

like I barely payed attention to him my entire first playthrough

he was just my eyes

but after I finished I just sat there forever making screwed up faces at my DS like "maaayyybbeee alice...? or idk... I'll play again and pick someone really out there to focus on"

twenty minutes later "oh fuck."

and since then I've become stupidly attached to his dumb shounen-ness and friendliness and tenaciousness and I guess inappropriateness

just an excuse to keep! headbutting! people! into! friendship! that was really refreshing after most of the introverted characters I've played all my rp life.

AGGRESSIVELY!!! also the fact that he's super easy to get back on an even keel if something super shitty happens. coming off of playing an AoT in a horror game...... also mega refreshing...

he can be Sad, but then he picks himself up again without fail.

JUST IN GENERAL I have a lot of nice feelings about sigma I never expected to have, he was a v unloved underdog before ZTD, understandably I mean he's a gross fucker that tries to look up skirts and makes jacking off jokes and I won't defend him for that

but when the game really gets down to it he tries so hard and means so well sometimes

ARMIN was an obvious pick coming off my huge Sherlock kick and getting super into AoT in its hayday...... he's nicer than sherlock but still caters to my dumb pragmatic intellectual type.

and I have a soft spot for best friend characters and That Deep Clingy Friend CR, but even with a cast present armin was functional on his own which was nice.

if I'm not careful this is just gonna turn into a love letter to ambi whoops. honestly I miss him but I don't think I could pick the series back up to review it. it was cool and hip but I've heard enough things about it to put a tired, bitter taste in my mouth secondhand, sigh.

AMON I was told no one played him so I was like "challenge accepted".

no, he came after sigma and is a horrible dangerous mix of beefcake with a heart of gold + pragmatic intellectual so basically The Ideal.

he's a character with an extremely firm black-and-white worldview, and solid morals within that world. but as stubborn as he is he isn't completely blind to reason, and part of his involvement in the story is having that grey area pried open for him

and it's something I've always really wanted to take the time to really play out and break down

but what is time

NIC I honestly haven't done much with because I'm weak and feeble in games and he seems like a project character.... he's such an interesting guy from an interesting setting with a demeanor I love to play and one that needs a different approach

but see: amon, he's a character that I'd hypothetically love to pry open I just don't have the energy.......

I'll come back to snake, sherlock was the first character I ever RPed because I'm an idiot!!! it was basically pelt trying to get me into DWRP and I waffled between like thane from ME2 and a few others and eventually we were just like "you really like sherlock play him"

we crashed a game full of animes as sherlock and eleven and were the only live actions and we beat up some anime teenagers and then the game closed

it was so good

SNAKE was another My Type... I go for types I'm shallow jay... he's also another one of those If I Had All The Time In The World journals though. playing him in a game with a crazy setting would involve balancing his own confidence with his actual dependence on CR that he'd need

my dream is to one day game a character where I have a full excuse to use <big><big><big> in dialogue text

he's the gag character on my list...... armin's got 3dmg and some of them have magic, but gamagori just casually and unironically breaks physics by virtue of his existence and that's something I've always wanted to write out
