I can't bring myself to recruit any other companions in 3, I love traveling with Butch, he literally has no clue what's what in the wasteland, he left Vault 101 on impulse

it's a shame the companion mechanic isn't as good as it is in Fallout 4, I can only imagine how interesting the dynamic between him and the Lone Wanderer is... I mean, he's bullied her most of his life (out of jealousy) and suddenly she's the only one he can rely on, probably the best friend he has too, lmao

he left Vault 101 with nothing but his charisma and a gun he stole from security dude is totally unprepared, I mean heck, he's scared of the sky! he hates the sun, and genuinely believes there are dragons circling the skies

I love the role reversal, suddenly he's the helpless, scared one and the lone wanderer is the strong, fierce one who's fighting their way to survival

the Lone Wanderer is also the most familiar thing he can hold on to too, he'll most likely never see his friends, or his mother, again... it's gotta be weird for them both tbh, especially the lone wanderer who's now probably responsible for making sure he doesn't get himself killed

I have Dogmeat travelling with us too, it's a weird image tbh, a vault outcast and her former childhood bully travelling with their pet dog across a post-nuclear wasteland, lmao

I sometimes switch Butch out for Charon bc I'm a sucker for Ghoul companions and he's really tall too, plus he takes down most of the enemies for me 😂

it saddens me that you can't seem to do anything about Charon being a slave... one that's been conditioned too...
