So I went camping yesterday! It was actually at a site an hour outside downtown Charleston, in a shitty little town called Moncks Corner
which had. Very colorful people. At one point in a general store there were two drunk people with guns.
And one of them left their gun on the counter accidentally
so the cashier had to be like "Uhhhhh is this y'all's gun?"
but I digress. Very pretty lakeside campsite!

with gators! Who I did not realize croaked at night.

this is a goose friend we made in the morning. We gave him corn.

Then my roommate Addie tried to hug him, and he was no longer our friend

we spent most of yesterday tooling around historic downtown Charleston, which was definitely neat and historic
rented bikes, which was more of an adventure than we expected it to be, because one of the bikes broke eleven minutes into our ride (a gear was literally cracking off)
which meant hanging around on the sidewalk for the bike place to pick it up/bring us a new one
during which we chatted with a lovely, somewhat crazy local woman walking an old hound dog
who said she would have offered to smoke weed with us while we waited if she had any weed
a sentiment which we never prompted, but nonetheless appreciated
visited the cemetary at St. Philip's Episcopal Church, which was lovely
look at that southern gothic

all the Southern, all the gothic
And then we got accidentally locked into the cemetery!
which is honestly pretty par for the course for our group.
but yeah, no one called out or anything, I guess we were out of line of sight, and they just chained up the place. Had a couple come to the gate all "How do you get into the cemetery?"
and we had to "We're trying to figure out how to get out, ourselves"
and they flagged down two cops for us
who offered to Google how to get us out. Which is not what we thought they'd do.
One tried to climb one of the walls only to realize it was lined with poky glass to, you know, discourage that.
We were going to, but wrought iron, poky bits at the top and one of our friends is recovering from a broken foot
but one of the cops, the less athletic one, finally got someone from the church office who had a key and let us out
good job, less athletic cop
a very grave situation indeed
while we were waiting for that we entertained locals and tourists alike. My favorite were the two older ladies who stopped at one side and were like whisper whisper "I wonder if they're locked in"
and I said "Oh, we totally are."
haha, what a spirited pun
but we made friends with Rummy the graveyard cat while we were there

I took way too many pictures of Rummy
when we were let out we were joking with cops like "Haha, I bet you have to do this a lot" and they were just
"No, this has never happened before."
It's good to feel special.
everything after was pretty normal, had a campfire, drank too much, found a lizard and a giant catfish skeleton, hung out lakeside in the dark
my only disappointment was seeing a place in Moncks Corner called Sister Kitty but my passenger said I wasn't allowed to drive over and find out what it was
did you take a picture of the catfish
no but my friend did, I will make them send me a pic
there were also two great church signs in Moncks Corner I forgot to mention
Silly rabbit, Easter is for Jesus
Fear the wrath of holy god, the Easter bunny is a false idol
lots of bunny hate in Moncks Corner
