I was watching Superheroes Decoded on the History Channel with hubby. eventually he looked over at me and said "All of these stories look like they're political..." 
I am starting to think he doesn't listen... >>

duh there is politics?
yeah there are...very few superheroes that don't end up either directly political or at least allegorically
...superheros and also comics as a whole are a reflection of our reality
how many heroes have punched Hitler? it's not just Captain America
a lot of them went back in time, even
and i just used that because it's the most obvious example i can think of, they've gotten a lot more subtle in many ways these days
I just think he's still of the mind that comics and superheroes are for kids
