Rincewind is a pretty obvious bottom. He's loathe to initiate for a variety of reasons and pretty well directed by anyone with the inclination
but if he grew comfortable enough with someone I think he'd switch it up some. Likewise,when certain buttons are pushed he can get feisty and snarly and would try grabbing the reins if he were with someone he either has an adversarial relationship with (and who doesn't completely terrify him)

Sam is a switchy little shifter
It really does depend on who he's with, although he's far more likely to be submissive with women
which unfortunately makes it all the easier for him to end up being used by women with hidden agendas

Sam's very reactive and easy to rile, and he has a lot of internalized hang-ups regarding masculinity and such since he doesn't actually tend to be top dog with other men

mostly Sam just likes a blend of give and take. How much is given or taken just tends to depend on who he's partnered with.
