hmm it's hard to know how to answer this question bc like. what is a minor character. I also tend to write oneshots, so I haven't really branched out with stories much

but Ross was definitely not meant to get as much backstory as he did

even if 99% percent of it never came up

as for taking over a story, not really no. There's characters who do unexpected things, but usually the main characters remain the main characters

5. Do you prefer to write human, animal, monster, or _____ characters? Why?

I do like writing human characters with some kind of power to them. The reason is probably good ol' wish fulfiment

But also because I love exploring the effects those abilities can have. I've got a fondness for half-human hybrid stuff as well bc of the whole caught between two worlds thing.

6. When writing a character, do you find it easier to work on their external or internal ticks first?

External. You may have noticed in tags forex there's a lot of specific recurring physical habits Frisk and Chara have - I like signposting internal thought with external tics, to the point that a reader doesn't need to see that part of the internal monologue

It's just easier for me to visualise, and to write something like 'X ran their hand through their hair' rather than 'X was nervous'

It also helps me have a more solid handle on the characters, because it means i really have to think about what they're currently doing and why they're doing it

So in a way the external stuff informs the internal stuff

15. Which character is your guilty pleasure?

God. Hhh. Hard question. I'd say Chara is, really, bc writing them is so cathartic. I've also had some Mary Sues in my time, with only one making it past the surface of my head (I still love her tho).
Mostly though if I write a char it's because I enjoy it, and there's not really any guilt attached to that.
