I answered this one when SymphonicCatastrophe asked it the last time this meme went around, but basically, Proto compares and contrasts himself against humans a lot, finding things he's proud of and things he dislikes each time.

He does the same thing with other Robot Masters, as a form of critiquing himself and finding ways to improve.

21. " If something tragic or negative happens to your character, do they believe they may have caused or deserved it, or are they quick to blame others?"

Good question! Proto blames Dr. Light for a good bit, one of the biggest things being "replacing" him with Rock and Roll.

And Dr. Wily takes his fair share of blame for further screwing with him.

But being on his own means Proto does have to own up to bringing a lot of his hardships on himself. His health, for one thing. He knows he's living on borrowed time by not just going to Dr. Light for proper repairs, but that's still his own decision.
