I don't know if anyone's managed to save or back up all that information, but if they have, it might be best to make another comm for it or spread it around here.
After all, I'm sure fans could use it, even if it is obscure, given the fact that The Lost Child is going to come out soon and most people are going to be in the dark about many of the directions the story has gone in. ><;
And I could use it too, given how bad my memory is and given how I've felt like updating the abandoned Wiki page for El Shaddai
Wait what? crap, no I didn't back it up. Was it auto-purged or...
any way we can at least get at the posts that you know of so they can be copied?
The magazine character interview isn't translated anywhere else iirc
I honestly have no idea, though considering the state of Livejournal and the fact that I can't see any reason why Mani would delete the com, I suspect it was auto-purged. ><;
I'm not familiar with Livejournal, but do you know if there's any way we can complain to them about this so that we can at least get back all the posts that were gone? Or, ideally, restore the comm? ><;
Looking back, I really should have done something to save everything, but I never thought it'd be deleted like this. ;w;
Of course, something like this has to happen after we all get a wonderful piece of news.
the DW one going probably means they were victims of Nyx's digital cleanup project.
That's..true. I hadn't thought of that.
In that case..Nyx, I think you tossed away something that we all actually need in your big project. ><;
LJ doesn't want Wayback Machine to access the site as of 2013
DW doesn't have a page archived at all
Which means that, unless someone managed to back up the information personally or has it stored in several emails or something, it's all gone, unless it can be brought back on DW. ><;
..Which means that all the download links for the novels are down too.
I'm not sure what either of us can do at this point though. It's just a waiting game until Nyx sees this.
I've typed up a quick outline of what I remember from the character interview, I think that's the only piece of information we don't have at all.
Do you remember what Lucifel thought of Uriel, or what Enoch thought of Raphael?
those are the two data points I'm missing
If I remember correctly, Lucifel thought that Uriel was a tough, beefy guy and said that he thought that he might Fall someday. There's more there, but I can't remember anything else.
...LOL right, Lucifel called it before the game was ever out in the first place
I don't remember exactly what Enoch said about Raphael either. Something about him seeming wise? I can't remember exactly.
he wondered if he'd have to be the one to capture him in that case, and how much of a pain that would be
That's right! I remember now! He did say that!
I remember Gabriel was kind/warm, to Enoch
Yup. We all know what he said of Michael, but I can't recall what Enoch had to say about Uriel.
He said Uriel seemed dependable!
..This is why we need logs. xD; I certainly can't remember half of this stuff.
I'm writing it up now in case we can't get it back and I forget...
...I thought I'd copied and saved it for offline use, too, but apparently I didn't
..I guess I'll try to scrounge up what I can remember about the Heavenly Seven and the Netharian too, while you're at it.
ha, I hardly remember any of that...
at least both pages are still available in Japanese, though
the character interview was available only on the physical pages of a magazine published over six years ago
That's true. Even if it's shit, running things through Google might help me remember some things.
..Sawaki, you're a man of the modern age. You embrace technology.
Why don't you re-run that interview or have it up on a modern site or book where everyone can see it? ><;
Nope! Everything seems to be in order!
great! we have...something, at least, for reference
>Lucifel reveals the real-world versions of his and Enoch's jeans were an idea he planted in the designer's head via angelic suggestion, and that he likes the Edwin brand for its softness and flexibility.
can't forget Lucifel being...Lucifel
...wait a minute I FOUND IT
Lucifel's thoughts on Uriel were: "For better or worse, among the Archangels he's the one with the most humanlike traits. Such peculiar values may perhaps one day lead to his fall. Would I have to be the one to stop him then...... He's pretty tough, so it'll probably be quite the bother."
I love that apparently Uriel's fall was apparently a thing from before the beginning
..That's right, I almost forgot Lucifel's small impact on the fashion world!
Same here, though. Sawaki knew what he was making long before any of it actually came though.
If you have it saved though, can you share it? The more hands it's in, the better, if the comms really can't be brought back. ;w;
I'd forgotten where it actually was published - remembering the title led me to find it!
(it wasn't a magazine, but the book is still rare)
Thanks!~
(Sawaki, I get you're a troll, but you're shooting yourself in the foot by making stuff like this rare and hard to ferret out.)
I think that was more Ignition's fault than his. The book is rare because the rights to whatever is already published aren't his - he can't reprint the game or any affiliated materials
so he's got everything from the point of acquisition onward, but can't do anything with the materials published under Ignition
..That's true. I hadn't thought of that, but copyright would prevent him from republishing anything that was owned by Ignition at that point. ><;
that looks about right to me but my memory of the blurbs are hazy
Galiel's gun is named Furuel though
I remember most of the blurbs, but with my memory, I wouldn't be surprised if I got one of two wrong, even though I think I've got most of them. At the very least, I always remember Michael's and Zerachiels. ^^;
Ah, alright then! I always thought Furuel was a mistranslation, but if it isn't, I'll correct it.
Furel was the way Fox originally translated it, Ally later said the second U wasn't intended to be silent. chances are both are feasible in their own ways since it's not a Japanese word or name, but whatever. There's definitely no "I" sound in there though.
I was about to say that I have a copy of the original interview. in one of the art books
I downloaded the novels and saved them on an extra drive like waaaaay back, when I first got my hands on them.
the Netherians were something I had attempted to translate back then I think, but my translation skills weren't as good
OH SHIT I AM SORRY I DIDN'T THINK OF THAT
Aaaaaaaaa I feel like shit for doing this without thinking :/ I'm sorry
I understand if you don't trust me after this but let me know if there is anything I can do to have myself forgiven
Hey, it's okay, shit happens. You had a massive list and it's easy to think "eh, nobody's using it" if you aren't actively using it or linking back to it yourself
I honestly didn't expect El Shaddai to have more games either...
also DW purges a LOT faster than LJ, sadly
so that one is gone forever. I've very sorry
It's okay, thank you for getting one of them back <3
CherryFlight: That's my mistake, then, since I always thought that there was an 'i' sound in there that just got left out somehow, since the name seemed to be written like an Angel's name, even though it didn't belong to one. If that's how it's supposed to be though, then I'll leave it like that.
kitorin: I still have the novels too (at least, the ones that were available for download on the comm), which means that, between the three of us, we could still offer them if we had to, but..everything that we hadn't backed up would be gone. ;w;
manikins: I'm not going to say I don't trust you anymore, because that's not true, but please be more careful when you're cleaning things out in the future. ><; New game or not, these pages are still pretty useful when I'm sharing new information with fans, and they're useful to us as a whole for obvious reasons.
I suppose this is a good reminder to myself of the internet rule, 'If you don't back it up yourself, you're going to lose it.'. xD;;
The only thing really necessary for an "angelic" style name is the -el suffix!
(And even then not all angels have it I believe)
nope, newest angel doesn't have it
I was thinking actual angel names, since for all we know Rua is an alias
Metatron, Sandalphon, Armaros...
yeah there's Dumah and an alternative name for Semyaza is Ouza
most angels in Islam end with -ah or -il
already checked if Rua is actually meant to be written ruah, nothing
Wasn't one of the names of Metatron Ruah Piskonit or something like that
Possibly three now: Galiel, Eved, and Ruah
