I loved the movie so much; and all this crap coming out shows just why we need a Wonder Woman

the reason the patriotism factor was so high when she was created was because it was 1940 (the first publication was later, but he started work in '40)

gold is plenty american

look at Trump

it's his skin color and also how he decorates

(not that '41 or '42 make that big a difference, lol)

there was a lovely one by Geoff Johns

and it was full of comments, almost all of them by men

so many of them saying how hot she was

or talking about other heroes

or trying to ask about other DC movies

or bring in politics

and did I mention the sexism and make gaze? -_-

they totally missed the point of that post. this is Wonder Woman day, damnit.

Faux News is full of morons anyway, you can't expect them to know their assholes from their mouths, let alone the nationality of a superhero (because if they're super then obvs they MUST be American! Murrica has a monopoly on that yanno)

it wasn't the nationality, just that her costume before was obviously red, white, and blue, and the stars and all

so of course they took that over as the meaning they wanted

also, 11million just from Thursday night

except...wasn't part of that being that she was going as a representative of her people and wearing the colors of the nation she was going as an ambassador to? she wore that because she was going to america and would be an ambassador to america. that's not her story in this one and thus it would make no sense.

i don't know if that's her original history they've changed it so many times, but that's the one i remember being the most linked to "America."

it's such a dumb thing to get mad over when we have so many other superheroes that rock the stars and stripes

they're being crybabies and whining that it's not about them anyway

they're probably some of the ones that will claim it's a flop no matter how much money it makes
