The first President I had any real awareness of was Bush Sr., and the first election I had any real awareness of was Bill Clinton's first win.

Our school held a mock election and Clinton won by a huge landslide, but this was Washington DC so that's no real surprise.

Now the cycle repeats itself somewhat, with our kiddo being born a month before the 2016 election.

I really, really hope that Trump doesn't stick around long enough for her to have any memories of him being president.
