we're having lake trout with butter, lemon, and dill. twice roasted potatoes, and apple pie
I don't know what variety of apples they are, but one of them is the best tasting apple I've ever eaten
especially after a little dunk in lemon water
we managed to pick a few (I found long sticks with a fork at the end leaning against one of the trees) and pick some from the ground that the deer hadn't gotten to yet
the fish is surprisingly affordable, too, since it's local. right out of lake Superior
we've got a fish market next town north, where we do most of our shopping
I think the potatoes are fairly local, too
this time next year, I'll be using my own herbs, too
OOOOOH My daughter wants to bake her first apple pie this year. O_O

it was his recipe for the trout, too
but, being me, I tweaked both recipes >>

I added a few squeezes of lemon juice because I like a little lemon with my apples, especially whatever kind these are
i also put about 5 times the recommended cinnamon because that's how I roll

okay, this is going to depend on how juicy your apples are.
I would probably add a tablespoon or two of small tapioca pearls with the apples
or shake the apples with a few tablespoons of flour
ours came out a tiny bit soupy
although it made a great syrup on top of the ice cream
ooooh okay good to know. Although the syrup sounds nice for the ice cream
it was. and if you wait longer than we did, it might not be an issue. it wasn't hot, but it hadn't cooled several hours, either
