[RP] Is there anything you've been wanting to RP but haven't gotten the chance to?

Certain scenarios, with certain characters, anything at all.

Just... in general, right?

I've always wanted to RP the protagonist from Jade Empire, specifically Scholar Ling, "Renegade" version.

Specifically, I've always daydreamed about having her have a conversation with someone about mages and mage rights in the Dragon Age setting-- Jade Empire has a lot of writing-space dedicated to discussions of philosophy, even if they don't actually go all that deep into it.

There's a whole quest about determining what it means to have the virtue of Strength, and what someone who valued strength over all else might do in a series of hypothetical situations.

I think being able to write those kinds of conversations would be interesting and a lot of fun.

Ooh, that does sound pretty neat! I'm not familiar with Jade Empire, but that sounds like it could be interesting to explore.

Jade Empire was Bioware's attempt to do Wuxia while also doing the usual "malleable protagonist with dialogue trees and a morality-slider"
Mica

It was....I think more successful at the morality slider than many entries, if only because it tried to couch the evil and good options as philosophical schools rather than evil and good
Mica

although there was still a certain amount of lazy writing which amounted to "do a relatively easy fetch quest/combat or murder an innocent for pocket change."

But underneath the failures of creative thought and the genre conventions of Bioware RPGs, there's something really special there.

It helps that the art direction was pretty good, enough so that despite the number of polygons being quite low, the game remains pretty good-looking

I also want to play an undead from Dark Souls, because I want to use the mechanics of that game in a setting where they're unusual. I want to see how other characters react to the existential torture that a Dark Souls character is forced by circumstance to see as either a good thing or at best just a neutral thing.

Furthermore, I like the idea of really horrifying things and people being just....nice? Like, here's this horrible half-zombie person with skin like beef jerky and all they do all day long is do murders, get repeatedly killed and revived, and try not to succumb to dementia.
Mica

But they're nice

They're kind

They would happily join a neat club specifically for people who wanna team up and be cool bros together.

Oooh, that does sound like a pretty cool game! It sounds like they did some neat things with it.

They are super cheerful about even the worst stuff if for no other reason than that it makes getting on with the dying/revival/murdering less of a bleak shitty slog

Oh man, that sounds like a fun idea, too. I don't know much about Dark Souls, but experimenting with mechanics and seeing how characters work outside of their settings is fascinating.

I love me some Dark Souls

If you ever want to know more about Dark Souls, just.... get me started, I could ramble on for a long time.

I'd definitely love to hear more about it! It seems like it has some really neat characters and concepts. I've gotten lost in the wiki before looking up random bits of stuff.
