Twitter and Tumblr have been it, lately, sorry
the rest of my time has been focused on things like putting firewood in the woodstove and soaking up blessed heat... and things like shoveling the porch, or making a path to the barn for firewood
thank god we have a sled to drag the wood back to the house with
I lost track of how much snow we've gotten since I got here (which was just Friday the 8th)
today is the first time we haven't gotten snow since I came, I think, lol
I can't even imagine that much snow >.>
it's maybe 6 inches on the ground now. it totaled to more than that if you add the accumulations, though, lol
I mean, I guess I've lived somewhere that got a foot of snow before... but that was always very unusual
this isn't any like Alaska, and right now it seems like we're still close enough to the Bay to keep the totals down
I see. well, that's good?
except driving inland for church and up to the next town north for piano lessons and shopping
(and ski lessons come January)
how the hell did you manage,
lecanis???
IT SNOWS IN HOUGHTON, JEEZ
hey
yes i noticed that when i had to shovel my walk for the third time
we had a day last week where we had to shovel the stairs 3 times in 2 day -_-
we'd be sorta screwed if we didn't have the snow blower and the plow attachment for the lawnmower
hubby still has to go out and get one of the snow makes for the roof, though
and jeez, winter is different everywhere. we never had to do that in Alaska, lol
HAHAHA I DON'T KNOW EITHER
though one thing is that I usually lived in apartments, so there wasn't as much shoveling to do >>
But yeah I have no idea how I survived a decade up there, it's crazy
my favorite snow story to tell people is stepping off the marquee at the old theater in downtown Houghton onto a snowbank
not even talking about shoveling cus fuck that. I use a broom, lol
but getting around and not falling. jeeze
we have to take Lorelei to piano at the music store down the street from that old theater
finding a parking spot is interesting. and getting out of the car in traffic. and if you can't find a parking spot, you have to park down closer to the water
I am hating that little stretch of sidewalk on the road that heads towards the water -_-
at least the comic store you park under the parking garage thingie
also, I hate that by the time we head home from piano it's completely dark
even if we left straight from piano and didn't bother with Walmart or anything
Yeah, my work starts at 3 pm. By the time my first break happens 2 hours later, it's already dark
I dislike the winter for that reason
I just don't like driving that road in the dark. especially with the potential for snow or not seeing the road. and it's right along the Lakeshore for part of it
