well. the problem is MOSTLY that he can't say a totally normal thing like "i wanted to make you feel better if that was possible" because that would imply that he had FEELINGS or something, gross
if it makes you feel better dirk was like "wow, you're being very hostile and a dick" and geir went i KNOWWWW, SORRY, I FEEL TERRIBLE D8 and then he and dirk got stuck in a "no, i'm sorry, that was unfair of me" loop
