also how do you think they would get along if they were to develop a relationship?
(jay and terezi know of each other. i don't think they're likely to have interacted beyond brief greetings/passings-by, but terezi was at salty anarqrists, knows about jay's map, etc.)
(and dirk told jay about the sniffy hyena troll. who has not been sniffing, because they've only been on low-frequency worlds since she got here.

)
(i think they'd be amused by each other, but i'm not sure where it would go from there.)
I think they know of each other at least, though they haven't had any face-to-face interaction. Their CR circles overlap a bit because it isn't a huge game
That being said while I"m not totally opposed to them interacting, anything that happens will 99% be handwaved and only if I can't find another reasonable alternative for whatever is causing the interaction to happen
If I'm really reaching to get the alternative to happen then eh, I'll just go with handwaved interaction, but like
an example I have is at LifeAftr, Xion was trying to organize preparations for a big battle, and I knew that my other character, Tataru, would jump on logistics. I was contemplating having Tataru just replying to Xion's post and then letting the rest of the thread be open to anybody else who wanted to talk to Tataru about logistics things
However another person's character stood up and was willing to head/work on logistics
Like completely honest, I wouldn't mind two of my own characters interacting and doing it in like... fic form or something, so long as like it didn't count for AC or anything and that didn't make up the bulk of your impactful CR and such
But a part of me feels I gotta conform to the expectations of DWRP |D
nods, yeah, it seems like a norm to have two characters you play not cross paths as much as possible
i play jasper and amethyst from su at the same game lmao...
which i'm fine with, i don't really want to play extensively with myself or plot out long interactions, but i can imagine it gets awkward if--
so they obviously. ARE AWARE OF EACH OTHER but conveniently for me its IC for amethyst to want to have as little to do with jasper as possible ,,
ormery: lmao. yeah i can see that being an issue
the first "serious" game i was in the same person played two of my closest CR who were. both from the same canon? the game's setup was such that they didnt interact much but
occasionally she would want something to have gone down between them and would write, like, a little prose short
i made one of them into a comic one time? good times
i know people at CFUD used to playercest back in the day . . . i feel like that's too much effort, though, even if i didn't feel like it'd be violating norms? all the logging out and back in
like i might want to have jasper and amethyst interact at SOME point buuut
the idea of doing it in like back and forth with myself tag format is overwhelming
like, you dont get the breather of the other person getting back to you
bc the other person is you
yeah and i feel like it's a little like playing chess with yourself too
like, you already know your own response . . . idk
i think if i needed to have jay and terezi interact i'd probably just handwave it/write up a short summary
unless it was like. a really intense scene for some reason in which case i might write it out
Basically how I handle it. I also have two in life after and they know of each other and have met but. I have short summaries for when they interact and leave it at that.
I usually keep them separate, but once they end up in a similar team/event or have overlapping CR, then it opens the possibility for them to cross paths as acquaintances. I never deepen it unless outside forces push for it.
