Well I USED to till my husband warned me not to. He says that having a lot of junk on your car keychain will pull on the ignition and over time, damage it. He is a former car mechanic, so he knows... I keep my keychain bare now for this very reason. So if you're looking for a reason to pare down, there you go!

I should say, I have on my keychain, car, house, mailbox and a key to my dad's and mom's house.

I keep lots of keychains from different places on my keychain. I don't keep the car fob thingie on my keychain since I don't drive everyday.

MouseMimistrobell: ooooh I have a push to start type of ignition. My keys don't necessarily have to leave my purse when I'm in the car. That would be a good reason to downsize on keychains though, for the sake of the ignition

these are my keychains. I can't hit anybody with them but I can throw them at somebody's face and they'll make a jingle jangle sound

I want that macaroon and Eiffel tower keychain, I usually do junk up my keys with club card key things like for Panera bread or something, but all of my actually keychains are gone, they broke. now I have a carbiner keeping them together.

I have two sets of keys. One for things I don't use often (other houses, pad locks, lock box etc) that stays at home. The set I take everywhere is just my car fob, house key and gym tag.

MouseMimistrobell: I was going to say the same thing! When I was a teen. my parents had the ignition stop working on their car while it was running, and that's what they were told caused it. I just have one decorative keychain on mine, and it's actually leather, and pretty light.

I always had just a bare keyring, same one since college. But when my stepfather died I put his air force dog tag on there.
