I've had my mechanic AND the kia dealer look at the stalk, the fuses, the relays, the wiring, the motor, EVERY part of the entire system

I took it to Kia again and they are insistent that replacing the motor is the only fix now

and reprogramming the body control module

which costs $500something

which is goddamn outrageous

especially since

it's not even guaranteed to fix it

and if it doesn't

that absolutely narrows it down the the body control module

which costs more than A THOUSAND DOLLARS to replace

at which point I'm just throwing good money after bad on a $15,000 car and I'm going to say fuck it and live without intermittent wipers until I can replace the damn car

like I know cars are money sinks that inevitably require maintenance but I'm so salty about this in particular because it's so stupid and

guess how soon this popped up after my warranty expired?

which is planned obsolescence so precise I almost have to applaud it

I just... I love this car, it's everything I wanted and it's perfect for my needs aside from not being a ford taurus station wagon

and I knew reliability was probably going to end up being the biggest issue down the road because, let's be real, it's a cheap car
