I am flying to California on a specific date, and I will not actually be there before then. I live here, on the east coast, and I am moving there, to the west coast, which means I will be here and not there, and therefore not available to pick up my car, before I fly out there

so it does not really work for me to have my car delivered two days before my plane arrives

similarly, the thing that they are delivering is my car, which I use to travel, which I would not be paying $1500 to ship across the country if I had another method of transportation available to me when I arrive there

so there is a little bit of a problem with having my car delivered 40 minutes away from where I will be living, since I will, as I hope you will be able to deduce, not have a car until I pick up my car

they seem to be struggling a lot with these concepts? I'm not really sure what to tell them

...are you sure you want these people in charge of your car...

it might actually be more efficient to hope they total my car and use the insurance payout to just buy a new one over there

I was perfectly willing to walk/catch a ride into downtown Tiburon because I was pretty sure that a car carrier would not make it down Paradise Drive and certainly not down the hill into the RTC campus

but they just called and said they would only drop it off in Oakland

which is

on literally the opposite side of the bay

and is not by any stretch of the imagination anywhere remotely near tiburon

that's like if I was getting it delivered here and was like "I'd like to pick it up in DC, please" and they said "the truck can't go into the city, we'll drop it off in Leesburg"

I know some people in the area who miiiight be able to help if they can't sort things out for you?
