so the problem is, I have a solid background and transparent animation layers

I want the background to show up under all the layers

and I want each animation layer to replace the previous layer rather than combine

basically, all the frames on replace mode except the background

apparently this is impossible?? am I missing something??

From what I understand GIMP has completely tanked in usability regardless of what you're doing with it anymore
