first six weeks fucking hurt.
he does have a shallow latch but I feel like it's so much more than that. idk of mastitis because it's in both but breathing even hurts.
with my 2yo the pain wasn't so bad after the first two weeks and was mostly just from cracked nipples. this is a deep pain
literally on the 6th week it just stopped hurting. that was the magic number for me. my sister told me that and I was like Bitch you better not be lying to me
did they check for that. the first minute my sister saw my son she checked. (she's a pediatric speech pathology)
I had his Dr check yesterday she said he's good that it's just his latch causing pain because he's on the end of my nipple too much I guess
also in case it is a blocked duct or something in the shower wet some warm wash clothes and lay them on the boobs
I feel like giving up makes me a failure and my supply is great so I keep trucking on. I try to do lots of pumping so I can give him a bottle, but he just wants the boob lol. 6 weeks can't come fast enough haha. 3.5 to go!
I've been doing warm washcloths every night it does help so much
did the doc check for antierior and posterior tongue tie? also a lactose consultation might be helpful. I'm not a la leche league fan )too radical) but they know their jam so I went their and just nodded my head at the stuff I wasn't interested in
if it happens a day or 2 more it might need a doc visit. for you. don't live in pain
breastfeeding is hard. they make it out like everyone's an expert magically.
seems like you are doing it right.
seriously if it continues get it checked. infection is not fun
I had this same problem! Are you using lanolin on your nipples?
I'm going to make an appointment with the hospitals LC, his pediatrician told me she is a lactation consultant and helped show me how to latch him better but the pain is seriously so bad I feel like throwing up when he latches.
I use lanolin and rub breast milk on them after feeding then let them dry. the cracking isn't bad now. I do have a milk blister but it's not super painful compared to this
I had that same pain. It eventually got a little better.
I kept trying to get her to latch on further but it was hit and miss. It was only one side she didn't latch onto far enough.
hoping so. they do feel warm and are so tender like mastitis but in both at the same time :/. I do warm compresses and try to massage them in the shower to clear and blockages but no luck.
Are you draining them each time?
I have a bottle of ibuprofen 800s to take but I hate taking pain meds cuz then I'm drowsy during feedings
I pump after he finishes to make sure I'm empty
Omg yes! I had a Csection so I was on pain meds after the surgery and I was soooooooooo drowsy for so long.
it doesn't help that he's on them 24/7 he comfort nurses I think. he thinks if he's awake he needs to be eating
Jackie was like that at times but at her first check up it was determined I wasn't making enough milk so she was nursing so much because she wasn't getting enough milk.
I had a hard time with breast feeding.
I supplement sometimes like 2oz a day some days but my supply is pretty good. he's just a boobie monster lol
I'm hoping with #2 that BFing won't be so hard.
I read this and I literally could feel that pain all over again. And it's been 29 years. I can't remember what labor felt like but holy hell, BF pain
lol Boobie monster. Soooo like every other boy?
I'm sorry I can't help with the boob pain.

I hope you find a solution that helps quickly.
