So my skin has been super oily for the past year or so, and I've decided to look at different products/options... and I feel so confused by even just the NAMES of half this crap... Is there a 'skin care for dummies' course I can take? Sheesh

My skin stopped being oily and breaking out when I started washing it with plain water and moisturising with a little vitamin E cream.

The market for that is crazy massive. Whatever you get, just stay away from exfoliators with beads in them, those are no good for skin. I have had really good results with the brand pixie by petra or even Korean skincare (which is all very affordable).

The microbeads are also hell for the environment. Use natural exfoliant like crushed nut shells or sugar.
