Like I want to at least make them engaging to read, but that is Effort
but i can't just list a bunch of traits because that is lazy and a good way to get the app rejected
i feel like i usually just end up TANGENTING FOREVER and then submit that, and it seems to have been Good Enough in the past, lol
it's just like.... "how do I start without making this sound like a high school paper"
can i just put "look he's a good guy and will make you all breakfast and pick up your homework for you and probably do it too but he will slit everyone's throat for his bros and not even blink, ok thx"
can that be the whole thing i think it's (kind of) accurate
the kind of guy who thanklessly cleans someone else's apartment for fucking years (thx noct)
AND BUYS THEM GROCERIES..... BECAUSE HE JUST KNOWS THEY CAN'T SURVIVE ON THEIR OWN.....
and is apparently friends with iris which is just the cutest thing ever to me
and also got hit with like 2 airships, crashed a boat, fought a few mechs, and nearly drowned a whole bunch of times because BRO NEEDS HIM?????!!?!
oh my god i swear one day he will ensure noctis will be able to survive on his own and never realize how futile that venture is
THE TRAGEDY THAT IS THESE TWO DUMB BOYS.....
they can start small he'll show him how to operate the laundry machine
or maybe just how to even sort the laundry
or-- actually, how to just put it in the hamper to begin with, yes, that's the right amount of challenge for him
i'll have you know that this is how revolts start, your highness (But lbr He'd DO IT ANYWAY even while sassing him back)
Personality sections are the bane of my rp existence.
THEY ARE THE WORST i totally understand them and why they are necessary but it's just so draining, lol
and I start second guessing everything I know and like "AM I DESCRIBING THIS RIGHT??"
and i feel like most characters are way more nuanced than a few paragraphs can really articulate
I do like the app for Uploaded, though-- I like that they specifically ask questions about how characters will respond to roles, or information, hahaha
Articulating myself and also achieving a perfect balance of length and strength is misery. Because it needs to be more than a list of traits but you don't want to rehash history either.
omg yes like... I want to provide examples but not turn it into a narrative of events in the game
I feel like I need to actually outline it, hahaha, like.. WHAT TRAITS DO I WANT TO EXPLAIN. OK, HOW DO I EXPLAIN THEM. OK SHOVE ALL THAT TOGETHER.
but instead i just write a bunch of nonsense and try to salvage something from those thoughts
That's what I do. A bullet point list, then see what can lead into the next and key moments to demonstrate it.
Yeah, it seems the most effective
And it keeps me from going on tangents about traits and then thinking
"wait are these actually personality traits. I mean. They identify them as a person. But are they actually personality."
and having a weirdo internal crises
I wonder if I should mention in this personality section like... Yeah he's cool and composed and rational and has his shit together-- UNTIL NOCT IN DANGER
then he's doing all the reckless bullshit we see in his DLC lmao
gettin' yelled at for not checking in or coordinating with anyone at all
just like OK GUESS I'M GOING OVER THERE OK BYE GUYS GIMME THIS BOAT
RIP OFF THIS SOLDERS ARM FOR A GRAPPLING HOOK OK
PUT ON THE RING SURE??????
I would consider that an important trait. That his typical behavior will go out the window for someone important to him.
Hahaha, yeah ME ALSO i am just like "does it seem like I focus on it... too much....."
probably not because it's KIND OF A HUGE DEAL TO HIS CHARACTER lol
