I am so done with Bakugo. He's such a jerk and so needlessly. I have more sympathy for Handjob at this point.
I think the only character I like less at this point is Endeavor. And he beats his wife and kids so there's not a high bar there.
I keep waiting for anyone to address the fact that he threatens to kill people constantly but has never once expressed a desire to help or save someone else. And yet still wants to be a hero?
If he would do that even once or if someone would even call him on that I think he might seem less annoying. But still no luck.
I kind of don't like the idea that Endeavor physically abused his family - he almost definitely went overboard with Shoto's training but I feel, given his presented character, he's much more likely to have emotionally abused the rest of the Todoroki family.
Don't we actually see him hit his wife in that flashback?
...hm. It's been a while since I've read that chapter, and I don't follow the anime, so it's possible.
You're right that he might not physically abuse the kids though. He seems totally uninterested in the rest of them.
Yeah...do you follow the manga at all?
Overall I like it. But I find Bakugo to be the most frustrating example of a shounen rival I have ever seen.
I kind of get what Horikoshi is trying to do with Bakugo, but how well he succeeds seems to vary from person to person.
I just want either him to ever show interest in helping or saving people or for someone to address the fact that he doesn't and that it might be a large part of heroism.
I have heard that each character is in it to represent a different view of heroism, so I guess I can understand it in that way.
I just wish that he and the pervy kid were in it a lot less.
Okay. yeah, I found the chapter. He did hit her. From the context, I think it wasn't an everyday thing, but something he did when she tried to interfere with Shoto's training.
Even if hitting his wife is irregular it's still really awful.
Yeah. Uh. Domestic abuse is bad no matter how often.
I'm not arguing against that, it's just been a long while since I read that chapter and the details got fuzzy.
I'm mostly just laying out the details so I can try and get my head around it, I guess?
I'd actually really like to see his crimes come to light and be addressed in a future arc.
That would be interesting.
Also where the heck did they find these fabulous lunatics teaching them about internships?
the third year trio are all very good
I would watch an entire show about them.
I guess I'll have to wait for next season for more.
