Usually had prime rib on Christmas Eve with the immediate family (parents and sibs) then travel to some relative (it varied) for the really big family get together. That was always like a Thanksgiving dinner with about a 25lb turkey. We sort of ate in shifts because there were usually around 20 people there and not quite that many seats at the tables.
