added the pose, added my 'animate on attach' script and voila. I attached it to test it out and make sure it attached right and all of a sudden I find I am hovering 3 feet in the air. My script has a spot that allows me to specify avatar position so I fiddled with it to try and get my avvie to move back down to ground height

no luck. Tried two other scripts that animated an avatar and also tried a script that was animate on touch but none of them worked. I reached out and contacted the creator who happened to be online asking her if it was meant to have the base position in the air and explained my issue

I was met with a "my poses are meant for using in builds, not wearable, find a scripter who can help you"

sooooooo now that I have calmed down because I got pissed.....does anyone know how I can fix this issue? Since I spent a decent amount of money on a good quality animation I would like to try and find some sort of fix for this

the pose is a priorty 5. Is that going to be an issue in any script overriding it and moving it?

        I think it's a pose issue.

yeah I tried explaining that to the creator but they just wanted to pass it off as not their issue.

If you make a pose, you define how/where the root is located. On furniture and stuff you can fix this by adjusting the sit target.

they set the height on the pose as in the air because "the poses are meant to be put into furniture items where you can set the height using a menu, not to be used in wearable items"

but on the advert it doesn't explain, nor anywhere in the description or on their FAQ page ont eh website ....or anywhere at all really

Can you get a different pose elsewhere?

maybe. But I just forked out a fair prie for this one and I really don't want to have to go purchase another because it was hard neough finding this one

is why I was hoping someone had a suggestion for a fix that would be cheaper

        Don't think so.

I am not sure if you can can fix a pose hovering height with an attached item.

ok. bummer. was worth a shot

The thing is that it also depends on the avi height, if the pose/animation is made wrong. I think you need to set the values to zero for everything that shall not get changed by the animation.

Like if you only want a "raise gun" animation, only the values on the shoulder/hand/arm should be set, or else the whole avatar pose will change.

yeah I did that too. Adjusted my hover height, changed my shape. I kinda tried a bunch of things before reaching out to them for help so that I wasn't like oh derp that fixed it if they told me something

But pose makers can tell you more. I only did some simple ones.

yeah I make simple poses as well, not animations so I know the basics as well.

But even after explaining that to them their answer was - we make animations for furniture, it won't work. So I got snippy and said well maybe you should freaking advertise that then pfffft

No script can help this. You're going to have to find another pose. Essentially they dont want to dig up the file, reposition and reupload since they understandably didnt make it for the purpose you're aiming for.

If you want an offset to your script the user would have to adjust it to suit their shape anyway, so it's kind of a nogo

Bleh. And that sucks because the animation could be used in multiple ways if it wasn’t stuck in the air. If anything maybe me complaining to them will have them consider not moving the root point in future. Who knows they may end up selling more

Yeah because having offsets for furniture via scripts is something they should have considered. I have no idea why they did that apart from wanting to avoid having to input seating offset LOL

No idea. And like not all furniture items same heights, avatars are different heights so it kinda of seems moot. But that’s their business shrugs

Also we need more ways to manipulate stuff in scripts.

You only can adjust the "sit target" position when someone is NOT using that sit target, that's silly. If you could, you could just find out the "size" of the avatar and then adjust the sit height. Won't always work perfectly because again scripts cant figure out what your "sitting height" is (upper body vs leg ratio) ... but you could at least minimize

problems with avatars floating/stuck in furniture etc ...

If only they actively made LSL more advanced. >.<

Is there a way to export the animation to either adjust animation or get into the bvh code to fix root?
